Steve’s story

1993
First steps in funeral service
Steve Grocutt began in the funeral trade at F.M. & J. Wait in Lichfield, before studying at Birmingham University and completing his nursing degree.
Nursing
Critical care
He was employed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, specialising in burns and trauma as a Critical Care Nurse, and is proud to have been part of the Critical Care team at Stafford County Hospital for a number of years.
2003
Royal Air Force
Steve was attached to the Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (Tactical Medical Wing) at RAF Lyneham as a Non-Commissioned Officer (Corporal), and served in the Gulf as a Critical Care Military Nurse.
18 years
Private nursing
During his 18 years as a Critical Care Nurse, Steve was also employed as a full-time nurse to some well-recognised clients, supporting them both in the UK and abroad.
Today
Full circle
Steve has come full circle and is delighted to remain in the caring profession — returning to funeral service as Director of Grocutt & Sons, and once again proud to serve Stafford and the surrounding areas, having now cared for local families for some 30 years.
